The towns warriors last preseason outing came against fellow Yel Div 3 promoted side Wilford Lions at Devon Park

Without goalkeeper Kayden who went down with an illness, big credit to Sam Rushton and Charlie Ward who volunteered their services for the team and played a half each in goal

Town started the better of the two teams in the first 10 minutes of the game, snappy play and fast attacking created an array of chances which led to the towns warriors taking an early lead when a cross shot from decan ended up in the goal

The town side failed to settle and play with the confidence the goal gave them and good spell of play from wilford gave them the opportunity to grab an equaliser
The warriors failed to get back to their high standards and allowed two more quick goals to slip away in quick succession
Trying to get back into the game and struggling with individual battles wilford we're able to add to their tally and go into half time 1-4 up

A pep talk at half time and reassurance from the manager, calling for more effort, energy and enthusiasm the boys head back onto the field

An injection of intensity in the first 5 minutes of the second frame gave the warriors a better outlook until a wilford chance ended up in the net
This goal seemed to affect as they struggled to get a hold of the game and a foothold in it, 2 more goals leaked before the final whistle ended the game 1-7

Not the ideal end to preseason but a taster of what to expect from an opposition level point of view in the coming weeks as the lads take the stage in a very competitive yel division 2
A few things to work on in training in the coming weeks but the boys have never failed to rise to the challenges they have been set since they were under 8s
