Well what can I say...so proud of these boys today. After the winter league stopping with 1 game left we were all left with uncertainty over whether the league etc would get completed due to COVID. Luckily we were back up and running a few weeks ago with the spring league but today was the final game from winter league. We went into the game 2pts behind today’s opposition knowing we had to win the match to win the league, a draw was not good enough. After completely dominating the 1st half but just not finding that vital goal we went in at the break 0-0. We told the lads keep doing what you have and the goal will come. Not sure what happened first 20 mins of second half as we let them get a hold of the match and found ourselves 2-0 down after a few mistakes and mix ups leaving ourselves a mountain to climb??‍♂️ the boys could have kept the heads down but what happened in the next 20 mins was quite simply unbelievable. The lads picked their heads up and got themselves back in the game through Ellis, after Kalvin’s shot was stopped on the line and was forced over by Ellis⚽️ then a few mins later a ball switched over the defence on the left hand side and a brilliant left foot shot across the goalkeeper into the bottom corner from Louie⚽️ the boys were on a right high now and a ball played over the top for Kalvin to run onto with the keeper coming out to challenge a 50/50 ball, it broke to jack on the edge of the box and he calmly lobbed the ball into the goal ⚽️. Our game management was then superb for last 6-7 mins as we switched back to a back four and saw it out for the win. Proud of the attitude of every single player today and big shout out to Callum for taking one for the team by not playing as we are only allowed 5 subs and he sacrificed himself in case he went on and got injured again and also to Bailey who couldn’t make it today because of injury mention for Tom and Joseph who have moved on but played there part earlier in the season well deserved champions!
