Again for the second game Newark looked nervous in play and almost as if the sooner the game was over the better. Plenty game and ball watching by Newark. Farndon Started with a strong team shape and the discipline to keep it. A strong passing game with ability showing in depth, they had the answer to anything NTFC had in defense or attack. Good communication, plays and tactics that they understood and carried out very well, three and four pass combinations pulling Newark out of shape, creating space for the attempt on goal.

Farndon Colts had turned up as a football team to play a football match, Newark were just not connecting or communicating and had just turn up to play football. Great credit for the opposition for winning the majority of the 1v1 battles all over the pitch, their team mates being an option for their players on the ball to retain possession. A lot of well execute skills and game play of shielding the player in play, shielding the ball to protect and retain possession and then attack in progressive wave up the pitch, which Newark did not have the answers for.

All of the Farndon FC's goals were well deserved, and numerous other attempts were only foiled by Newark's excellent goalkeeper Jack Braithwaite ( Managers man of the match) who was left wide open to a barrage of attempts on goal. Loss of shape, discipline and poor decisions by Newark gave an easy pathway to goal at times. Newark rallied to gain some ground and some good interlinking play, the hardest working player on the pitch , Henry Clarke ( Man of the match)bagging a goal as reward for his effort , commitment, fight and 'never give up attitude. Hesitation when it was time to pull the trigger meant Newark's attacks broke down and Farndon countered fast and punished.

A tough day at the office for Newark town....
