We had 12 players available but just before the game started Eve had to leave due to feeling unwell. So with 11 players and the sun out the girls had to dig deep to get through the match with no subs and the weather getting warmer.
Lois opened the scoreline after 12 mins ⚽
Three minutes later Iaysha then put us 2 nil up
A minute later Grace B put a third past the keeper
Bernie came running up the pitch out of defence and got herself a well deserved goal
Gedling kept battling and scored to make it 4-1. Chloe was very unlucky not to keep it out.
Iaysha got her second goal of the game followed by three more from Grace B
Gedling still breaking through on goal made it 9-2
We were awarded a penalty and Bernie stepped up to get herself a second goal
I spoke to the girls at half time and told them to go back out like it was 0-0. After last week where we switched off and lost the game I didn't want that to happen (I can't even remember what the score was at half time today but I think it was 4-1)
They had a quick drinks break in the second half and I asked them to just keep possession. They weren't happy with that they just wanted to score more goals
With about 3 minutes to go I asked Grace B to try and get Alice a goal. Playing in her 4th season and never scoring today I felt was her day to.
Alice had chances on goal and did score but was flagged for offside
Well done to Chloe and Freya for going in goal. Neither had much to do but both dealt with any attack bravely.
