Ok today's tournament wasn't a massive success , we had 3 new players and Kai and James missing plus a no show so we were always going to be up against it ,we were drawn in a really tough group of fern reds , farndon and collingham . I'm not going into any depth about the matches as you were all there to see for yourself. What I will say is I'm quite upbeat about the upcoming season because I did see things today that were encouraging , Sam and Jacob slotted in well and what I considerer my strongest squad I'm sure we will compete with a lot more finesse and power . I needed today to try different positions and line ups for the new look arrows , I've seen what we can do today , albeit in small segments but that's down to me to push on through , what I am please about is most lads in arrows can play 2 roles comfortably and that comes in handy over the season , ,,,,,,,Farndon got to the final , we should have beat them , but we never won a match .... So what does that say about tournaments ..The one thing I will say is I got the tactics wrong v fernwood reds , I usually start with a defensive set up to begin with , I didn't because we needed a win and it backfired , i take that blame ... Training is needed , I'm not panicking as I have full confidence in our lads , I look for those little moments of skill , passion or toughness , I have seen it in all the lads so I know it's there , if it's in them I want it out full time , on the pitch not hidden away in their heads , I want to bring out their confidence and the rest will follow ,, see you all Wednesday
