In many ways our supporters are the face of the club on First Team match days, creating a brilliant atmosphere and really lifting both the players and management. It's very important that we keep this positive atmosphere going. To help with this, we've produced a new Match Day Supporters Code of Conduct. We're building an excellent reputation, not only in Newark, but in the wider football community. This Code of Conduct will help to build on that as our club progresses.
This Code of Conduct encourages respectful and positive support, whilst reminding supporters of the need to comply with the rules of the ground and the FA. It will be displayed at First Team matches, but we've also reproduced it here:
This Code of Conduct applies to all of us.
Respect
Cheer for your team in a supportive and encouraging manner. Refrain from sideline coaching and shouting at players, coaches, officials and opposition supporters. Racism, homophobic and sexist chanting is prohibited.
Supporters and spectators are not permitted to enter the playing area at any time.
To comply with the licencing regulations of the YMCA, no alcohol is to be brought into the ground under any circumstances. A bag check could be conducted if anything suspicious is brought to the club’s attention.
Plastic drinking cups will be provided as no glass is permitted around the Stadia pitch.
On no account are flares or other pyrotechnic devices to be brought into the ground. Strict sanctions will be applied if this occurs, including possible abandonment of the game and an immediate ban of an individual or individuals.
Smoking and vaping is not permitted around the Stadia pitch. A designated smoking area is situated near the main entrance gates.
All children under the age of 16 are to be accompanied by an adult.
All NTFC volunteers and YMCA employees are to be treated with respect and any abuse or foul language directed towards anyone will result in a verbal warning and further disciplinary action as required. The club has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of verbal, physical or emotional abuse, bullying or harassment. This applies to all individuals connected with NTFC, supporters included.
NTFC is committed to ensuring that no one is discriminated against on the grounds of age, gender, ability, race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic. Everyone should feel welcome at our club.
Away from a match, be mindful of what you post on social media. When it is out in the public domain, it is difficult to retract. Do not post content that could reflect negatively on NTFC. Refrain from sharing inappropriate or offensive content that may harm the reputation of the club.
Consequences of Misconduct
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension from the club, depending on the severity of the incident. The club will review each situation on a case-by-case basis and determine the appropriate action and ultimate outcome.
By following this Code of Conduct, we can all contribute to a positive and supportive environment that allows everyone at NTFC to enjoy football.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this Code of Conduct, please do feel able to contact any of the Board of Directors.
Thank you for your cooperation.
