Club Announcement - Board of Directors

Sarah Robinson25 Nov 2024 - 08:00

New line up of Board of Directors at Newark Town Football Club following recent AGM

We are delighted to announce the new line up of Board of Directors following our recent AGM.

Sarah Robinson - Chair
Lee Henderson - Vice Chair
Chris Wade - Treasurer
Tony Joynes - Men’s First Team Chair
Josh Feehily - Youth Section Director
Craig Mountney - Social Media Director
Rachel Phillips - Ladies Section Director
Matt Ridyard - Supporter Director
Matt Hallam - Youth Section Director

We welcome three new Directors as the club continues to grow in all areas; Lee Henderson, Matt Ridyard and Matt Hallam.

Lee Henderson is a keen supporter of Newark football having played locally for many years, only hanging up his keeper gloves at the age of 42. He became a regular at the club a couple of years ago. Lee will help open up commercial opportunities in his role as Vice Chair.

Matt Ridyard is a popular character on and off the pitch and when not goalkeeper coaching or being our match day PA man, will enhance the supporter experience that our fans have become accustomed to. Matt will also assist with fundraising initiatives.

Matt Hallam is a highly respected Youth Section Manager and when not supporting multiple teams or coordinating kit orders for hundreds of youth players, will work alongside Josh in strengthening links between the Youth and Senior Sections.

Sarah, our new Chair, is a familiar face around the entire club, having held the post of Vice Chair for seven years alongside outgoing Chairman, Chris Wade, who has decided to step down. The club wishes to place on record our thanks to Chris for his steadfast loyalty as Chairman and who remains on the Board as Treasurer.

This is a significant and exciting step in leadership for the club with Sarah being the first female Chair of the Board in Newark Town’s long history.

Having volunteered in various roles since arriving as a football mum in 2015 and most recently working closely with the Men’s First Team during the last three seasons, Sarah has been instrumental in securing funding, driving publicity and engaging the community into that particular area of the club.

Speaking about her new role, Sarah commented:

“I’m really excited to accept the position as Chair of the Board. I love everything about Newark Town Football Club and the people who make it so special, whether that be our army of dedicated volunteers, every one of our players, our supporters, families and all the local businesses and contacts we are partnering with as we lead the way in Newark football.

“I believe we are entering a really important time in local football and I’m proud to be involved with a club that gives our community the platform it deserves to thrive and grow the sport for future generations.

“Newark football is steeped in history; none more so than Newark Town Football Club, founded in 1868. This new era will reflect on what we’ve created and build on those strong foundations for the future.

“Our ambitions for the club are exciting and I, along with the rest of the Board, look forward to Newark Town Football Club being at the forefront of those opportunities”.
