Newark Town 4 – 0 Crowle Colts

Lewis Chambers returned to the starting line up front, as did Sam Bartle, and Rhys Lewis moved into mid field for the missing Ben Wallace.

The game started at a fast pace, with the home side aggressive in the tackle, and the game evenly contested. But on 12 minutes, a Crowle clearance to edge of box, allowed Rhys Lewis to place it back to right hand corner of the goal, giving the keeper no chance, and Newark to take the lead.

Crowle continued to be agressive in the tackle, continuous free kicks disrupting the flow of the game, earning themtwo yellow cards in the first 15 mins.

The game continued to be disrupted by free kicks and the referee being the centre of attention.

On 30 minutes, Lewis Chambers had a close range overhead kick, going just over the Crowle bar. But from the resulting goal kick, the ball was retuned back down the right hand side for the pace of Nathan Arnold to take it to the by-line and slide in a long cross to the far side of the Crowle box, which was headed down by Jonny Wiles, for Chambers to slot home from close range.

Newark continued to have space down the left, and with Zak Kersey making good use of the time and space and on 35 minutes his shot took a deflection to go over the bar.

Following a Newark cross into the Crowle box, and an adjudged deliberate hand ball by the Crowle player, resulted a red card and Crowle down to 10 men. The penalty for Newark was converted by Chambers, for his 2nd of the game.

HT Newark Winning 3-0, but the game was more memorable for the interruptions of play with the referee the centre of attention, issuing 5 yellow cards and 1 red.

The 2nd half started in the same vein finished, with the 6th yellow card of the game issued to Arnold.
