Town went down to their fourth successive defeat as they took on a well organised Tideswell outfit.

Town were on the defensive from the start as Tideswell, on their first visit to Station Road created some decent early chances, Brown and Renwick, both just clearing the bar with good efforts. They continued to have the balance of play as Newark had difficulty in clearing their lines and keep possession, and it was not until the 13th minute that Newark had their first sight of goal, Kieron Wall shooting just wide. This seemed to give Town some impetus and they enjoyed more of the play for a while without really testing Ollerenshaw in the Tideswell goal. The visitors then regained the
upper hand with striker Jack Bradbury taking more of a starring role inthe game as he played on the last man of the Town defence, his pace causing real problems. Twice he burst through, first Town keeper Nathan Burrows had to make a smart save and tip the shot over then Ian
Wade was forced to clear off the line to keep the scores level. As Tideswell continued to have the balance of play Reece Carlisle made a last ditch tackle to stop Handley as he was preparing to shoot. Town’s only other effort of note in the first half came when Jammy Lloyd’s cross cum shot from the right just cleared the inrushing forwards and the far post.

Early in the second half both teams had chances to score, firstly Campbell hit an effort just over the bar from about 10 yards out then Danny Purves' cross was met by Lloyd’s head but the ball struck the post. Town’s tormentor in chief Bradbury then took control as he was played through and
from the edge of the box curled his shot past Burrows and into the corner. Five minutes later the same player was played through but was foiled as he tried to take the ball around the keeper. Not to be outdone Bradbury was back on the scoresheet again within minutes as he burst past the Town defence, rolling his shot into the far corner. Town managed to get one back within minutes however as another Danny Purves cross was met by sub Chris Dobbie, his header finding the net via the keeper and post. Town pushed for an equaliser and created some chances but things broke down in front of goal. Four minutes from time Tideswell completed the scoring as Bradbury yet again
outpaced the Town defence and from the byline laid the ball back to sub
Evans who had an easy tap in from close range.
