With a bare eleven players at the start, there was little to choose between the teams in a lacklustre first half in which neither keeper was troubled. However the second period saw Newark have more of the game, the best chance coming on 59 minutes as a point-blank save by Bowler kept out a fierce drive from Joe Parker. Town’s pressure was finally rewarded on 84 minutes when a well worked free kick between Jammy Lloyd and Sam Wilford was centred for Parker to fire home. Just as it seemed that Town would take the points a Bilsthorpe breakaway saw Domimic Hammond equalise in the last minute. Town complete their season with a visit to bottom side Welbeck Welfare on Saturday (3 pm)
