Chris Self made his first appearance for Town's first team this season and produced a goal of real quality to give the Blues the points.

A moment of inspiration from Chris Self in his first appearance of the season gave Newark Town victory in a low-key match against Sherwood Colliery.
His fantastic 25-yard effort which flew into the top corner proved to be the winner as they secured fourth place, their highest finish to a Central Midlands League season.
Before the game the club were presented with their team of the month award for March from League Chairman Eddie Pearce, and they started the match strongly by taking a fifth minute lead.
The ball was played out to Dom Swingler on the left-hand-side and his deep cross evaded the head of James Munson and drifted into the corner of the net.
Sherwood, who lie second-from-bottom with just five league wins, offered little going forward and Newark created chances to add a second before the break.
Swingler saw a second effort clawed away by the keeper, while Jordan Thomas turned and shot into the side-netting following a good passing move early on.
Thomas went close on two more occasions before half-time as he first saw a shot blocked on the line after controlling the ball in the area, before shooting wide after jinking past two defenders.
These chances aside, the first-half was subdued, with the Blues showing little urgency to increase their advantage.
Sherwood, who hadn’t threatened Newark’s goal before the break, began the second-half brightly and went close through Harry Joule who shot wide following a questionable offside call from the out of position assistant referee.
Moments later Sherwood levelled the match, after good work on the left from Josh Smythe found Chas Simpkin in the area who prodded the ball into the corner.
The Blues toiled as they looked for a second goal, but Chris Self provided the inspiration with a wonderful effort that flew into the top corner, which was completely out of character with the rest of the match.
Newark could have won by a more convincing score-line but a combination of wayward finishing and impressive goalkeeping kept the score at 2-1.
They have one more match to play this season, an away trip to Thorne Colliery on Tuesday May 12, kicking off at 7.15pm.
