Manager Luke Parsons opens up on past And present.

Here With Newark Town Manager Luke Parsons.

1. Hi Luke how has preseason as an whole gone for you? Starting from training then into the games?

LUKE: Pre season couldn't of gone any better to be honest. It seems like its gone on forever, our first training session back was the 15th of June fast forward nearly 3 months and we're ready to officially kick off the new season. The training has been hard and alot of it was tactical but the pleasing thing is everything we have worked on during pre season has been implemented in the games

2. Preseason was different to last season is this something you planned?

LUKE: Its been completely different, last preseason was more integrating lads and making it as enjoyable as possible, this year has been different we have gone hard on the fitness and set a blueprint on the way we want to play this season. It's a big change to what we did last season but one the lads have adapted to well and performances during pre season has shown its been worth it

3. You added another assistant manager into the mix this year Lee esam how did this come about?

LUKE: I said at the end of the season that Me and Joyno needed an extra set of hands, Lee got in contact and offered his services, I had lengthy chats with him in the off-season and invited him down pre season. He has the same ideas as me and Tony in the way we wanted to play and after a few session I knew it would benefit the club bringing him on board, he has experience in the higher leagues with Carlton Town and back in the day Arnold Town which will only benefit the club

4. We have seen some new quality players come into the mix this year with some very good signings, How is this season's squad comparing to last season.

LUKE: We have kept the majority of last seasons squad, George Asplin has moved on up the leagues to Lincoln United and I wish him all the best, Steven Carty has packed Saturdays in at the minute but the door is never closed. We have however made a number of exciting signings. Matty Clarke joins us from Skegness town, Mark Faflik has come across from Carlton, Ryan Attwell, Marlon Grundy and Elliot Dye have joined us from Hykeham and finally Zak Johnson joins us from moorlands. We also have JT back from uni for the season

5. With the season starting saturday How are you feeling going into it.

LUKE: We've had a fantastic pre season and the confidence in camp is pretty high, we know its going to be a long difficult season with the league looking even tougher this year with the introduction of SJWorksop and Claycross.

6. After 9 preseason friendlies Do you know your strongest team yet And formation?

LUKE: Its been a fantastic pre season where alot of lads have being knocking on the door, I think I've just about got my side and formation sorted in my head

7. Cup draws have Been made are you happy with the fixture's.

LUKE: There are no easy games when it comes to cup games, the only thing you ask for is that you get a home draw, luckily for us we got just that in the League Cup. The Floodlit Cup we got a bye which I think every manager would be pleased about

8. Finally with the current pandemic do you feel like the YMCA home of Newark town is a safe place to be considering?

LUKE: The Ymca is a huge venue which can hold over 2000 people, social distancing should not be a problem for fans when we play at home, The club have installed hand sanitiser in multiple places all around the ground and has other strict rules to make sure everybody is safe entering the premises
