Ladies start the season with a winner!

The ladies started their league campaign on a blistering afternoon at the YMCA, they fell behind quickly to a well taken goal from Arnold’s captain, Newark quickly regrouped and never looked back. The blue army quickly equalised through Eleanor Stanbridge closely followed by a goal from Karolina Wielgos and a belter from Jess Aldam taking the score to 3-1 at half time.

Town carried on where they left off after the break with numerous chances on goal, Arnold’s keeper putting on an impressive performance by keeping town at bay, they finally broke under the pressure and Ellie Stanbridge getting her 2nd if the game and that’s the way it ended. Fantastic team performance from every single player, special mention to Chloe Parr for stepping into goal and pulling off a fantastic save when needed and to player of the match Jess Pulfrey who was incredible in defence from start to finish.

Newark play away to Meden Vale next Sunday in their 2nd league game
