Total control

Farndon came to us with a bit to prove . They gave us decent game back in September but today was so different . They found us in top form and were chasing shadows from the first minute onwards , we didn't score until the 15th minute but only by good saves and off colour finishing , after Finley had opened the scoring the pressure to score had eased and it was auto pilot football , regroup reset and so on . The confidence was flowing through the whole team and everyone looked comfortable . Dylan, Tom and Jacob between them neutralised Farndons main goal threat , Kai and Kieron were again pressing the right areas and Pete and Cisco on wings were easy on the eye , Finley up front seems to threaten all with his pace. Having a good footballing keeper in Harry helps our defence who are at ease resetting the play using harry as a sweeper. The game itself was 4-0 at half time 2 apiece for Kieron and Finley. Changes were made , Isaac slipping into right back with no problems at all , Josh was on for Cisco on the right and Pete gave way for Charlie . We still looked good and again pressed when we needed , only allowing Farndon glimpses of the ball . After about 5 minutes Finley got his 3rd goal and his 11th hatrick of the season so off he came and Cisco went back on with immediate effect scoring straight away. We took our captain Kai off for Sam so things changed ever so slightly but hardly noticeable . With the game well won I had the luxury of changing things , the only thing that didn't change was our play , confident , high standard and clinical , Cisco scored two more well taken goals giving him 8 in 2 games leaving us with an 8-0 lead. Our only plan now was to keep Harry with a clean sheet. He marshalled his goal well with Sam/Kai Dylan and Isaac helping . The game finished a worthy 8-0 , everyone happy , me really happy with our basic , simple but effective football. Christmas at the top is all you can ask , come April hopefully they will be still there . Man of match was Tom Gregorick
