It really is a funny old game

To say we couldn't hit a barn door is a bit much , we hit it ok but straight at keep who was there also , our football was good , our shape was good and we started the game on the front foot attacking Barrowby straight from ko. The first 15 minutes was us attacking and Barrowby defending, they are a strong unit and did this really well , we kept pushing without scoring that crucial first goal. This proved costly, a broken down attack and a cross field ball that shpuld have been cut out , the ball went under our defenders foot somehow but a brilliant first time shot from the angle from 25 yards 0-1. It did not stop the flow of the game from us and we carried on pressing , corners were mounting up and we could of scored from at least two of these from headers , but it was looking like one of those days , a clearance/pass down the line from barrowby just wasn't dealt with by our full back , this then resulted in a cross along our area and a good finish from the edge of the box 0-2. It was a bit of a shock but barrowby showed us how to finish that's for sure and is the reason why they are top. Halftime 0-2. The team talk was really carry on as theyvwerecas I couldn't fault them . We came out with a changed formation , bit more muscle up front in Dylan , Pete on right , Finley on left , Isaac for an injured Jacob . The 2nd half was a little more even with both sides attacking , I thought we were edging this battle and our shot count was massing up , We threw caution to the wind with Finley joining Dylan up front and going to a 3 man midfield , it mattered not as barrowby defended well , when we did get threw , our shooting was saved , or off target or the post came in handy, i knew it wasn't yo be our day , at 0-2 we had thrown everything at barrowby and a goal mouth scramble and 4 consecutive shots resulting still with no goal and I knew it wasn't our day , the 3 rd goal was a result of us pushing and poor tracking back and individual skill, 0-3 . The shoreline looks like a one sided match it wasn't at all , I was impressed with our total team work. Another day it could quite have easily been us winning 3-0 . Fair play to barrowby , the soaked up everything we had to offer , got a clean sheet so job done to them . Newark are still in a championship fight, we have to play them again and having seen them now I know we can beat them ,but we need to have our finishing boots on ,,,,,, man of match was the cat Harry lee Brown
