Still to strong

Our competitive season kicked off with guess what ? , a competitive match , think we underestimated Farndon slightly and wasn't expecting them to fight back as they did. However we looked like we could score every time we went forward and the scorelne doesn't reflect the true dominance we had , especially the first half as we spurned at least a dozen scoring chances on top of the 4 we scored. Only our desision making in defence was in question at set plays as we looked a little shaky at times which would be our Achilles heal as we let two of the daftest goals in via deflections and players backs. Our starting team of Harry in the nets , Isaac , tom ,Dylan in defence , Jacob,Kai ,Sam in midfield Pete in the CAM role and Finley leading the line looked good and it was just a matter of time until we scored which came from Pete , Finley also carried on his scoring spree by out muscling his marker and he was off to fire home 2-0 . That should have been game over really but poor finishing over and over must have given farndon hope , a corner gave them their first chance as we decided to play scramble several times and the Farndon lad fired home 2-1. Again we had chances to increase but didn't take them . Farndon pushed and earned another corner that one of our players decided to turn his back on the ball rather than head it and deflected it into the path of Farndon striker 2-2 game on . This got a reaction from us , a well worked corner saw Kai power home a header and another move saw a shot saved only for Sam to follow up , 4-2 at half time . 2nd half again our decision making was ok but not well enough executed , a under hit backpass and a under hit cross field pass gave away two daft goals ,4-4 would you believe . That was the last time Farndon saw our half as we really turned the screw , Kai scored another tap in as a long period of pressure in Farndons last 3rd left the ball floating around the area . Jacob was putting in some great crosses and one fell to Sam who again had a simple finish to make it 6-4 , we weren't finished there and Jacob slipped the ball to Finley who under pressure got in front of his marker and from just outside the area placed to the side of keeper for his second , it finished 7-4 we didn't have it as easy as it should have been , the missed chances didn't cost us this week but on another day who knows , it's a win against a decent side who had played their part in a decent opener if a little uncomfortable at times . Mom was Dylan,,,,, my Mom was Finley ,
