This was a great team performance. At last were starting to develop, listen and carry out instruction!!

The previous game was a bit of a disappointment. To concede goals in the manner we did was hard to take. It was back to the drawing board and back to basics.

The morning was a lovely start - the sun shone over Devon Park and the playing surface looked good. We had time to discuss as a team a formation and strategy for the game, even the warm up session was looking a bit more polished.

The game kicked off and it fairly even for the opening minutes. Passing was crisp, distribution good and everyone was contributing to a team performance. It was not long before Ben Leese found the back of the goal, a well worked team effort finished with his own style. Soon after he was on the score sheet again and were looking good value for the score line.

The ball was being worked well down both flanks of the pitch it was one of these attacks when Toby found space on the left for Ben to grab his hat trick. Ben later had to come off due to an ankle injury.

Matthew Andrew found himself running onto a through ball close to Half Time and from distance made no mistake with a good low shot beating the diving keeper.

Half Time Newark Town 4 - Radcliffe 1

The second half I ask for a good defensive performance as we were in a good position against good side. With Ben off the field Matthew was central striker. How he did not add to his first goal we will never know. Good individual skill, teamwork and intelligent play provided Matthew with numerous chances. The wood work, a fine string of saves from the Radcliffe keeper and just bad luck prevented him from scoring. The introduction of Ben half way through the second half brought out fifth goal.

A very pleasing response to the last game. A good solid defensive performance was the platform to comfortable win. I was so pleased with the effort, skill and team play. Above all the game plan that was carried out with ever single player contributing.
