Newark responded from last weeks defeat with maturity and style to overcome RHP Whites in a convincing victory. From the the start Newark pressed and were creating themselves chances. It was not long after the start the Theo Stevens who had reverted to a defensive role for this fixture opened the scoring with a lovely drive from just inside the area. The lead was wiped out fairly soon when Newark were caught at the back and a lovely goal from the opposition levelled things up.on Newark continued to attack and Toby Hampton and Ben Leese grabbed goal to put Newark in front at the interval.
Half Time : RHP Whites 1 Newark Town 3
RHP hit back in the second half and closed the deficit to one again. Newark then took the initiate and dominated the closing stages of the half. They were rewarded for all the pressing in the first half paid off as goals were coming from every angle. Theo Stevens, Ben Leese, Adam Hall, Matthew Andrew all chipped in with goals to make the game comfortable.
Great movements and intelligent play was evident from all areas and it was pleasing to see that following the opening day defeat this was certainly behind us and confidence had been restored.
