Slow start in the cup

3-1 up after the 1st leg so this game was just to make sure the job was done. Nothing much happened in the 1st half with both teams having their fair share of the play, neither keeper was really troubled. 0-0 halftime. 2nd half and with the team talk given the boys were aware of what was required. Our midfield was awesome today and after some good work from Cookie twisting and turning laid the ball off to Clayton as he reached the edge of the box only one thing was going to happen bang 1-0. Bennington were looking good on the counter but we stood firm. We had a corner it was an in-swinger which ended up in the net scoring directly from the kick. Clayton got 2 goals, Nathan got a clean sheet, Sam got M.O.M and Ben H got Parents player. Really good game today the boys started to look like their old selves we just need to get some confidence back. The league will be a case of staying in div 1 this year and we will still fight for our league cup, we took a step closer today to achieving that through to the next round. Well done.
