Town back in action after 2 weeks off

The boys were all warm and fired up on a chilly Devon park this morning as we welcomed Farndon who 1 of our lads joined at the start of the season, good to see him back playing on Devon park shame its not in the town blue, but people move on. The lads were ready but as the referee wasn't ready to finish the game before they were stood for 15 minutes watching the under 11's. Referee blows and we get under way, me and the boys had a chat pre match saying that we needed to press high up the field and chase them down in numbers and it was working a treat. The league leaders were under pressure all half as Newark looked strong all over the field. We had a couple of really good chances in the half but yet again not for the fist time the Farndon keeper made 2 great saves to keep it 0-0. We had a goal kick and unfortunately I was getting the boys to play out from the back Farndon heard as the closed down Ben H who lost the ball for them to go and score. No ones fault but mine sorry boys. 2nd half and it was pretty much all the action was in the middle of the park. Farndon had a corner and what only I can call was a miss kick went straight across the area on the floor I think everyone must have just watched it go straight past them as the opposition found it at his feet and just poked it in. Lost 2-0 today boys but it was a great first half and an decent 2nd half, lots of good points to take from it. M.O.M today was Harry and P.P was Sam well done to every one of you.
