Great win in tricky conditions

We welcomed Grove rangers to Devon park on a very windy day. Grove we're looking to cement their place in 2nd in the league and they probably thought that they would come here and get their result. Captain Cookie gathered up his troops as they huddled up before kick-off. We had gone 1-0 up within 5 minutes, playing some good football a great left-footed shot from Clayton. Grove then settled down and their striker was beginning to get into his game and he had beaten the offside trap and levelled things up 1-1. Half-time. 2nd half and Grove had started this half as we had the first and they took a shot which Nathan had saved but with the wind and the spin on the ball it fell to their man who just tapped the ball in 1-2. Heads up and crack on. The lads got down to their football again, winning the 50/50s and pressuring everything we were playing strongly all over the pitch. Clayton then stepped up with his 2nd of the game to get us back level 2-2. We carried on attacking the Grove goal and their defender made a mistake to which the ball was pulled square to Harry who kept calm and slotted home 3-2. 5mins remaining Groves striker was quick all game and he was through once more and Danny came with a great slide tackle and got rid of the ball to take the pressure off. Final whistle. This was a very good win against a very good team we have proved to ourselves that when we get our game heads on we are good enough to beat anyone on the day. Danny got M.O.M and Parents Player today which tells you what sort of game he had.Clayton got 2 goals and Harry got 1. But during the game everybody played their part, worked tirelessly throughout.
