We won the toss and started with the sun behind us. Today we went to the new boys in the league Gonerby, not really knowing much about them. We started the better team with the boys passing well and pressing the opposition but creating few chances.
Gonerby had somehow taken the lead scoring first our heads had dropped a little as it was against the run of play. The boys were still playing good football and they were catching Gonerby with the offside trap brilliantly. Gonerby had got their 2nd. Half-time.
Cameron had to come off as he was injured, no subs to change with, we had to re-jig play with 8. Will T dropped into defence which was unfortunate as he was really playing well on the right of midfield. The boys were chasing everything.
We tried everything to get back into the game as the next goal would be the game changer. Some good running down the wing Judah pulled it back to Clayton who laid it off to Danny who hit it 1st time........so close he hit the post. Gonerby brought the ball out "GOAL" 3-0 although we tried and tried today playing with 8 in the 2nd half was always going to be an uphill task. Really pleased with how the boys kept going and going right to the whistle today lets take the positives from this into next weeks game against last seasons winners of division 2 East Bridgeford.
