After 6 years of holding various Board level positions at Newark Town FC, the club is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Wade as Chairman.

Chris has replaced interim Chairman, Iain Mackay, who had served in this role previously for 12 months. Other Board members include Sarah Robinson (Vice-Chairman, incorporating Head of Friends of Newark Town FC, Facilities and PR & Comms), Dave Roberts (Society Secretary & Lead Director Senior Section), Craig Mountney (Joint Lead Director Junior Section), Paul Dobb (Joint Lead Director Junior Section) and Carla Brown (Parent Representative and Junior Secretary). Chris will continue to oversee the Treasurers' role until a replacement Director is announced.

Commenting on this recent appointment, Chris added:

"We are naturally sad to see Iain go, but he leaves the club in a really good, strong position. He has been instrumental in driving the club forward in his year in post and has positively navigated our negotiations to be an integral part of the upcoming Sports Village Development on Elm Avenue. We thank him wholeheartedly for that.

"We are also moving into a really exciting period at the club too as we prepare to celebrate our 150th Anniversary in 2018. We are proud to say that we are the oldest club in the town and we continue to evolve in many ways.

"Our First Team and Senior section overall, are seeing improvements under the leadership of Dewey Chappell and our Junior section is progressing well with all teams now part of the YEL Football League. We are also seeing increasing numbers of girls joining us at our newly formed Girls Centre of Development, so all in all, I am really excited to be taking the helm at this time.

"I am ably supported by my Board of Directors, as well as a committed and dedicated group of managers and coaches. The future is bright. The future is blue."
