Trojans v Ordsall
1st game back after Christmas and the Trojans trying to start 2017 as they mean to go on
The boys have had some good results against the Trojans and it shows as it gave the boys great confidence and they started the game strong and on top, if not a little wasteful with lots of early opportunities being wasted, that being said the chance kept coming and it wasn't long before the ball fell to debutant Alfie Briggs Price who flicked the ball with the outside of his boot over the advancing goalkeeper to make it 1-0, for the next 15 minutes it was all Trojans chance after chance came and went that was until 20 minutes in when Nojus picked up the ball down the left beat his man well and saw his shot bounce back to himself and his cross left Henry Wilkinson
in the middle of the goal all on his own to make it 2-0, that was the score at half time.
The second half began and the Trojans again were the creators of their own problems trying to dribble out of defence and losing it left the Ordsall striker all on his own and left Harley no chance in goal and that was 2-1, then came a nervy 5 minutes when Ordsall seemed to have all the play but they could finish off their moves either, once the Trojans had ridden the storm out they put their foot on the accelerator and out of distance first from a great goal from Charlie Harris
the ball came out to his weaker foot on the edge of the area and he did everything correct head over the ball struck it hard and low across the goalkeeper into the bottom corner for 3, the next came from Dean Simpson
the ball flying about in the area like a pinball and it found itself at deans foot and he struck it well into the net for 4, next was Max Oldfield
's turn he beat the last defender well and found himself in on goal and dispatched it with all the coolness we come to expect from him, the next was a beautiful finish from Dean, Nojus picked the ball up on the left and swung in a great ball high in the air and Dean come in and hit the ball on the volley into the net for 6, it was Nojus's ball again that set up the next one for Max again his speed and dribbling left him leaving the defence behind and a calm finish for 7. Ordsall got themselves another goal with the Trojans defence completely going to sleep with over confidence and again letting the striker be one on one with Harley with the same outcome as before for 7-2, the last goal and arguably the best was Max's hat-trick goal a free kick from well outside the area was struck hard and high and looped right over the keeper to make it 8-2.
A good result and a MOTM performance for Brook but could have easily gone to a handful of players including Alfie, Charlie, Nojus or Max.
