YEL Saturday U10 presidents cup final red.... easier to play than say.

Newark Town Cavliers u10's are due to play Floweserve Santos U10's in the Final of the YEL Presidents Cup red at Rolls Royce on the 12th of May, after an exciting semi final played at Devon Park against Southwell Tigers U10's....

The Semi Final

A warm spring evening set a great stage for an exciting game. An early well worked goal by Newark's Hugh Fox Goddard set the game in the right direction for Newark. Newark stilled played their a high possession game, picking passes well, even though the nerves were obvious and Newark were slow to react at times . The playing style of Newark, forcing Southwell Tigers to play a long ball game and score their only goal from a corner, by one of the biggest 10 year old's we have ever seen...

One goal a piece at half time did not reflect the first half, as Newark did not take the numerous chances they had. Second half started with Southwell taking a physical game to Newark, to try and force an advantage. Newark dealt with it well, by keeping a good defensive shape and creating quick turn around from defense to attack . This lead to Henry Clarke the current top scorer in all Newark divisions of the YEL, getting Towns second goal . A Late substitution brought a third goal for Towns Nebin Babu who had an immediate impact on the game with great interlink play with Henry Clarke, which resulted in a lay off to Clarke on the right wing , who crossed a pacey return ball into the Southwell goal area for Babu to volley in with his left foot. This resulting in the Final score of a 3-1 win to Newark town
